Williams & Humbert updates the look of its sweet Oloroso Canasta with a modern, sophisticated and elegant design. A contemporary image that keeps the essence of a design whose creativity is part of the legacy of this century-old winery<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new look for this emblematic Oloroso was created by Claessens, one of the most prestigious agencies in the world. The design includes changes to the bottle and label. Both the shoulders, now more prominent, and the neck of the bottle have been reshaped, with raised details adorning its surface. The new label gives special prominence to the historic Sherry Girl logo, a hallmark of Williams & Humbert. With a new shape and embossing, it is made from excellent-quality, heavier 100% cotton paper with a velvet-like finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new design fits perfectly with current trends, reflecting the essence and character of this singular Oloroso<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canasta, whose name refers to the traditional wicker baskets used during the harvest, has become one of the flagships of Bodegas Williams & Humbert. Born in the middle of the last century and the national sales leader in its category, Canasta has received prestigious international awards throughout its history: an \u201cExtraordinary\u201d rating at the 2023 Ultimate Beverage Challenge and Gold Medals at the Sommelier Challenge International Wine & Spirit Competition 2020 and the San Francisco International Wine Competition 2015, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canasta is a blend of Oloroso and Pedro Xim\u00e9nez that undergoes oxidative ageing for six years through the Criaderas y Soleras system. A mahogany-coloured sweet Oloroso with aromas of dried fruit and walnut and a light hint of raisins and toasted sugar. Smooth, velvety and very warming on the palate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canasta is a versatile wine that enriches any meal with its complexity and range of nuances. Method:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Put sugar and three lime wedges in a Collins or highball glass<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Muddle well until all the lime juice is released and mixed with the sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Add 7 mint leaves to the glass, after clapping them to release their aroma<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Add a scoop of crushed ice<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Pour in the Canasta sherry<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Mix all the ingredients well in the glass with a bar spoon, using repeated up-and-down movements<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Top with lemon-lime soda and a little more crushed ice<\/li>\n\n\n\n
