To make this vintage Fino, Williams & Humbert selected free-run must from the 2012 harvest, from old vines in the Añina and Carrascal pagos in the Jerez Superior area. After fermentation at 17–22 °C, the must was fortified to 15.5%. Fino 2012 is the result of 8 years of static ageing in 600-litre American oak casks more than 50 years old. Classified as Fino in 2016, this vintage sherry is aged statically. Unlike the uniformity provided by the Criaderas y Soleras system, in which wines of different ages are methodically blended, each vintage wine is different, unique and special, a reflection of that year’s harvest and its particular weather. This vintage corresponds to 2012, a very dry and hot year.

Cask No. 10 Campanillero.

This 2012 vintage Fino en Rama comes from an exclusive, limited selection of Cask No. 10 and the saca carried out in November 2020. Production is limited: only 400 50 cl bottles from this saca have been released.

It is a Fino that shows the purity of biological ageing, with great finesse, salinity and personality. Pale gold in colour with a pungent nose; on the palate it is dry, mineral, elegant and full-bodied.

“Campanillero” is the name under which Williams & Humbert releases this vintage. As is customary, the winery names the latest sacas of its vintages after something linked to flamenco. Ever since the first Williams vintage, dating from 1920, there has been a nod to flamenco through the famous pink bird symbol printed on the label. Williams & Humbert has wanted to continue this tradition and go one step further, adding a name to the symbol as a tribute to one of the most important art forms of our land.

The name of this flamenco style comes from the Andalusian campanillero, later popularised in Christmas carols. In the 18th century campanilleros roamed the districts of Andalusia celebrating the so-called Rosary of the Dawn, singing to simple instruments such as the triangle, the early guitar, sleigh bells, zambombas and the bell collars used to adorn horses. This gave its name to the members of these groups of singers and, later, to the flamenco style.

November 2020 saca from a selection of 4 casks that show the character and strength of a singular vintage, bordering on oxidative ageing.

Bottle of Vintage Fino en Rama 2014

Fino en Rama 2014 comes from a selection of 4 casks that show the character and strength of this singular vintage, notable for natural total acidity higher than the historical averages of our warm-climate region. During the harvest, malic acid levels were three times the average. This Fino 2014 shows the character of biological ageing in a vintage that borders on oxidative ageing, standing out for its salinity, nerve, strength and personality.

To make this vintage Fino, Williams & Humbert selected free-run must from the 2014 harvest, from old vines in the Añina and Carrascal pagos in the Jerez Superior area. After fermentation at 17–22 °C, the must was fortified to 15.5%. Fino 2014 is the result of 6 years of static ageing in 600-litre American oak casks more than 50 years old. Classified as Fino in 2016, this vintage sherry is aged statically. Unlike the uniformity provided by the Criaderas y Soleras system, in which wines of different ages are methodically blended, each vintage wine is different, unique and special, a reflection of that year’s harvest and its particular weather. This vintage corresponds to 2014, a cool year with low rainfall and mild temperatures in July and August.

Production of this fino is limited, with 1,500 50 cl bottles released. It is pale gold in colour, with a pungent nose and floral notes. On the palate it is dry and mineral, standing out for its concentration, structure and freshness. A very special, singular fino with great character.
