Dos Maderas Origen Thailand

DOS MADERAS ORIGEN THAILAND rum is the expression of an extraordinary journey and a process that defies convention.

Born in Thailand and aged in its land of origin for 12 years in bourbon barrels, this rum embarks on a unique voyage to Southern Spain. At the historic Williams & Humbert Bodegas in Jerez, it undergoes a second aging process for 6 months in casks previously used to age very old Oloroso sherry.

From the first aroma to the last sip, every nuance of this rum tells a story of crossed oceans and connected cultures—a long journey that begins in Asia and continues in the Marco de Jerez to offer this exceptional rum, featuring seductive notes of sweet spices, toasted caramel, and nuts, enveloped in a silky texture. A limited edition with only 4,000 bottles available for those who value character and know how to enjoy authenticity: unique pieces for flavor explorers and collectors of character.

DOS MADERAS ORIGEN inaugurates a new saga of annual limited editions with Thailand, bringing the world’s finest rums to Jerez to age in our century-old casks. With this unique series, Williams & Humbert applies the same technique used for the rest of its Dos Maderas range: REVERSE FINISHING. In other words, the art of finishing where others begin. We bring these rums from their place of origin so they can continue their aging in our legendary cellars. Our century-old sherry casks, the unique and singular environment of the Marco de Jerez, and the facilities of the historic Williams & Humbert bodegas are key to creating these exclusive rums.

Our sherry casks play an essential role in this entire process. Our most emblematic sherries age for more than 20 and 30 years in these century-old casks, soaking every fiber of the wood with the essence of wines such as Palo Cortado, Oloroso, or Pedro Ximénez. This heritage is transmitted to the rum, allowing it to acquire, with precision and patience, the deep nuances that only these very special casks can offer. A subtle yet decisive contribution that provides fruity and honeyed notes—a balance that can only be born from wood steeped in history.

The environment also matters. The Marco de Jerez is not just a place; it is a living heritage with over 3,000 years of winemaking tradition. Located in the northwest of the province of Cádiz—the southernmost part of the Iberian Peninsula, nestled on the Atlantic coast—it is a privileged region where the purest essence of Lower Andalusia’s character is concentrated: the light, the sea, limestone soils, and a landscape of rolling hills, with a perfect microclimate for creating spirits with soul.

And, of course, the bodega. The Williams & Humbert facilities are much more than a place for aging; they are a temple of tradition and history. This “cathedral bodega,” the largest in Europe, covers an area of more than 50,000 square meters where over 60,000 American oak casks rest. An unparalleled work of architecture and engineering, this exceptional bodega, built in the 1970s, won the National Architecture Prize and was declared part of the Andalusian Immovable Heritage. A construction of great complexity with a perfect orientation toward the Atlantic, it allows for optimal temperature and humidity conditions to age our Jerez wines and spirits.

From origin to character. From the world to Jerez.

We do not follow the easy path or the usual route. Reverse Finishing is not a trend; it is our philosophy. We bring the world’s most exceptional rums to the historic Williams & Humbert bodegas in Jerez. We dare to travel a different path to achieve extraordinary results: rums that become unique pieces, shaped by the soul of our century-old casks and the essence of historic bodegas nestled in an unparalleled region. This is how spirits of unmatched depth and complexity are forged. True limited-edition jewels for those seeking more than just a rum—an unrepeatable experience.
