by Juancho Asenjo, wine communicator and humanist.
The importance of vintage varies greatly from one wine region to another, depending on wine types, styles and concepts. What do great vintages mean in the world’s main regions? Should vintages be valued for their age or their quality? What is “en primeur” selling in Bordeaux? Why do some vintages cost more and are more sought after than others? Juancho Asenjo answered all these questions in his lecture as part of the series organised by Williams & Humbert, a winery that also holds an important historic collection of vintage sherries.

During the lecture, guests were served a glass of Vintage Amontillado 2001, in tribute to the year Williams & Humbert began its current vintage collection project. The Lecture Series began in 2014 and has been sponsored by Cajasur since 2021. The lecture was introduced by Williams & Humbert CEO Jesús Medina and Cajasur’s Cádiz business manager, Beatriz Fernández.
